| Hello there fellow BJD lovers,
I just wanted to know what you guys do while you save, and wait for your dolls. See I am new to this, and the saving is going along very slowly. I am currently saving for my first doll, and afraid of losing interest if it takes too long. Since I have never gotten much closer than a glance at a BJD a few years ago I don't even know what I'm waiting for! So I am asking what you do while you wait and keep your interest?
This is what I do: -Draw different outfits/face-ups and such for my doll -Figure out a story/background for her - I have pictures of my wanted sculpt as my desktop wallpaper -Research about BJD's -Watch youtube videos (Such as Asenva BJD's channel) -Learning how to crochet and other crafts that I can use with/for my doll
So that's what I got; tell me what you do!

| I don't really know what I do exactly to keep myself occupied while I save/wait for a new doll...
I do have moments where I am less present in the community, when nothing is happening on my side, but even then I still look up new post, look at pictures and look up what everyone else as been doing.
Right now I waiting for dolls that will still take a lot of time to come and I have no money to by stuff for those I have so I simply try to things that do not make me think about it XD
Best way not to fret is to not go in any Market place. Even more so when saving for something else. Money goes away fast, even more when you just want something to happen and have a new shiny box in your hands :/ _________________ Tablette Graphique Bamboo neuve a vendre.

| That makes a lot of sense; staying away from the market place is probably best .Thanks for the advice. |

| In my case, right now I'm waiting for a rabbit doll, I took the picture, made a silhouette and I keep drawing new outfit for her.
But it makes me neglect the one I already have so it's now a good idea when you already have one. And you end getting restless after a while in my opinion. Well, that's what's happenning to me right now.
So I decided to work on a different project. A dress, but for myself. I think it's better to keep your mind busy though. School occupy my mind right now. |

| Sounds like a good way to draw outfits for your dolls. I'm sure they look really cute! Yes keeping your mind occupied sounds like a good way to keep from going crazy waiting for your doll, and it wouldn't feel right neglecting your other dolls. Although it is hard not to get excited over something new right? Sounds like a fun project, and we can't forget to give ourselves a treat and not just the dolls! |

| MissL.: I think that is the hardest part. Sometimes I go shopping for myself and end up spending not that much but always think about how I could have used it for dolls :/
Or how if I had not bought that or this I could have spent more or me or actually saved some money for something else. _________________ Tablette Graphique Bamboo neuve a vendre.

| I can see how that would be hard. I feel the same way when I buy something and think oh I could have put that money into my doll fund, or I will see something else I want/need and think oh I could buy that if with some of the money in my doll fund. (I have yet to take any money out of it, yay!) |

| For me waiting my doll is a nigthmare! I'm généraly in front of my computer and I wait for the tracking number or I look where is my baby. Not 24 hours on 24 hours but at each time I can. |

| I do that sometimes when I just buy small things! I can't imagine how bad I'll be when I get my first doll |

| For my very first doll the wait has been terrible. Not just after I ordered, but even before, when I was saving money and didn't know when I could ever afford one of the dolls on my list... So I gathered patterns, I looked at BJD videos such as box opening, make up tutorials (I knew I wanted to make them myself), etc. I've even started sculpting my own BJD. O_O I've written stories for my future dolls. I've also bought some fabric and sewn plushies for my nephews and a little dress for Chibi-Fluffy's Leile to practice my sewing skills. I had a lot of free time, back in university. XD When I actually ordered my first doll 2 years ago, in the 3 months I waited I could sew him a few clothes so that he wouldn't be naked when he gets home and bought material to do his face up. That and check the pictures of said incoming doll every single day. It can become obsessive... Now, I have much less free time, so waiting is not as hard as it used to be (time goes by to fast!!), and I can always just do something for the dolls I do own. But it still happens at time that "I WANT HER/HIM NOW!!!", so in these times I draw them or continue writing their stories. Or I shop online for them, which I don't recommend: it kills your wallet. It happend a lot when I had to wait 7 months for my Dollshes, haha. |

| Yes, that is the state I am in right now! Although I have slowed down a little though. I think it's a good thing though so I don't get overwhelmed or bored of it too quickly. I'm kind of going on a roller coaster of being very into it and then backing away a little. What really sucks though is that since I am currently unemployed the saving is taking me a looooong time. |

| I can totally understand. I had to wait more than a year between the day I decided I would eventually buy a BJD and the day I clicked "buy it now". I had known about BJDs long before that, but I thought I would never pay so much for just a doll... *looks at her dolls* Ahem... ^^; But the longer you wait, the more excited you are when you order, wait and receive it. |

| Haha yeah I don't know how many dolls I plan to get, but I'm sure it will be more than I anticipated. Hopefully I will be able to keep myself in check! Also I agree that the anticipation will only let the excitement grow! |

| I tend to scour the internet for pictures of the doll I'm getting, specifically owner pictures more so than the company pictures. I do this before buying as well, but I get more obsessive after I purchase the doll and scour for many more. For ideas for how I want the doll to look like when I get my hands on them. (not that they turn out as perfect as some of the same dolls out there)
Otherwise depending on wait times.. I've waited for a doll for a year long, and I would go in spurts of searching for pictures and forgetting about him. |

| Yes, lots of pictures. I have a bit of a collection of pictures of the doll I'm saving for. |
